Memor Jewellery is wholly committed to being a sustainable business. Sustainability is a journey and I am still finding new things every day that we can improve. I hope you will be able to join me and help spread a little joy through jewellery, whilst helping to protect the planet.
What is recycled silver?
Recycled silver is silver that comes from unwanted jewellery, medical equipment, electronics and giftware. These items are refined and the silver is melted to be reused again.
Is recycled silver as good as other silver?
Metals are a marvelous thing! They can be reused without their quality being affected. Recycled silver is as strong and durable as silver that's just been mined fresh from the earth.
What does Memor Jewellery use?
From day one Memor Jewellery has invested in recycled silver and we are committed to continuing this. The only items that are not made from recycled silver are earring butterfly backs and necklace chains. This is because making these by hand is too costly and I have not yet found the right supplier that uses recycled silver for these items.
I hope that as the industry is changing more toward a sustainable approach that it won't be long until I can source these items from recycled silver.
